Vocabulary: "hydrangea"


The rainy season officially started in Kanto this week. Most people (including me!) really don't like the rainy season weather very much.

But there is at least one nice thing about it, which is that the hydrangea (the English word for the Japanese word "ajisai") have started to bloom.

There are lots of great places to go see hyndrangea near here. A lot of my students like to visit Meigetsuin Temple in Kamakura, but it's always really crowded! My wife and I really enjoy going to Hakkei-jima, which usually isn't so crowded, and has a great hyndrangea garden with lots of different varieties and colors.
