In English, the word "choose" is a verb which means about the same thing as "decide." Or in other words, to select one option from a set of two or more possibilities.
But one problem Japanese students of English often have is that the word "choice" (チョイス) is commonly used in katakana as Japanese English. Because they are more familiar with the noun "choice," and less familiar with the verb "choose," many students try to change "choice" into the past tense. But that is incorrect.
The three forms of the verb "choose" are: choose, chose, chosen
CORRECT: "She chose the white sweater."
INCORRECT: "She choiced the white sweater."
"Choiced" is not a word in English, so when you're telling a story about a decision you made in the past, please remember to use "chose."
