Internet Lingo: "iirc" (2016.03.31)
The abbreviation "iirc" or "IIRC" stands for "if I recall correctly." It is used when you're pretty sure your memory of something is right, but not 100% sure.
Take for example this text message conversation:
Pam: What time is the party tomorrow?
Jim: It starts at 8, iirc.
Here, Jim is fairly certain the party will start at 8:00, but by using "iirc" he communicates that they might want to double check to make sure.
