Idioms: "hang out"
To "hang out" means to spend some time in a place, often with the nuance of doing nothing special or nothing in particular.
For example:
When I was in high school I used to
hang out every day at the mall with my friends and play video games and stuff.
Or, in a phone call:
Natalie: Hello?
Leonard: Hey, it's Leonard. What are you up to today?
Natalie: Oh, not much. I'm just
hanging out watching TV right now.
So, how about you? Where are your favorite places to hang out?
